Glass is a recyclable resource which can be recovered almost without degradation and can also be recycled as raw material for art products as well as fire and soundproofing materials. However, if improperly treated and discarded of as litter, broken shards of glass will become a serious hazard to people playing or going about their daily lives. Even when the glass fragments are buffeted by the sun, wind and water and become rounded over time, the pieces can no longer be reused effectively and become nothing more than a waste of resources. Although, some artist may just pick it up as artistic inspiration, creating the beach money system in Xiao Liuqiu, Taiwan.
