This apparatus containing a transmitter and power supply is most likely a transmitter used for some kind of marine investigation. Based on the lack of contact information contained inside, as well as the clear traces of adhesive at the bottom of the jar, it’s highly likely this transmitter was originally adhered onto a larger object. However, it has since been disconnected from its host object, and carelessly drifted away to set out on an unexpected adventure!
