Emergency water rations will always be stored and timely replaced inside a ship to ensure fresh water is available in the event of a shipwreck. However, even water has an expiry date! Once the expiry date has been exceeded, the expired emergency water packets are “disposed” of in the cheapest manner - straight out to sea. But did they ever stop to think that it’s also the solution with the most expensive consequences? Shipwrecks occur only a few times each year, but expired emergency water rations are endlessly carried around by the currents. What a rewarding way to treat your would-be saviour.
