Construction projects will inevitably produce residual construction waste which need to be removed. However, for the sake of reducing costs, some irresponsible contractors choose to dump their waste at seldomly visited locations during the darkness of night. Granted, many of the residual materials from construction are natural by origin, which gradually decomposes over time and will not usually leave lasting damage to our environment. However, according to the “broken windows theory,” disorder encourages further disorder. So, the next time you come across any illegally abandoned waste piles, please report it to your local Government Environmental Protection Bureau!
