Fishing Float Ball
Plastic floats are light in weight, resilient and are inexpensive to produce; a recipe for mass-production, as discovered by the fishing industry! Burn marks can often be spotted on the surface of discarded floats, which is evidence that in-situ burning has been seen as a legitimate means to deal with the garbage. However, incineration of plastics using inadequate temperatures leads to production of dioxin, which has been referred to as the “Poison of the century.” In fact, burning breaks the plastics down even further, which only adds to the already major problem with micro-plastics invading the environment.
