As with everything residing in the sea over time, plastic ball floats inevitably become attractive to epiphytic barnacles and evolve into a barnacle float. However, plastic floats are not exempt from weathering effects, and gradually break down under the influence of the sun, wind and water. Broken down micro-plastics become assimilated into the ocean where they are mistakenly incorporated into the food chain by becoming unknowingly ingested by marine life. These micro-plastics eventually come full circle and arrive onto the dining table without any suspicion.
