These baseballs are made to be soft and safe to prevent injury while being hit around and are made of foamed plastic. Over time, the ball’s surface hardens and cracks into powder when buffeted by the wind and sun, dispersing into small particles polluting the environment. Ironically, for a product designed to be safe, it sure is hazardous to our surroundings! Homerun or not, these soft baseballs need to be kept indoors to bring happiness.
